Zell Davis Osteen while surrounded by her family passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord on May 11 2004. She was born on September 25 1925 in Blackshear Georgia to Jacob Lloye and Cassie Mae Davis. Zell was one of ten brothers and sisters. She and her beloved husband Walter W. Osteen Jr. a native son of Daytona eventually returned to Daytona in 1952 and began raising their four children. Zell cherished her family and treasured her friends.
During her battle with cancer she was an inspiration to all by her example of courage faith and dignity. Her faith was deep and abiding. She enjoyed fishing gardening crafts and preparing delicious meals for her family. Zell will be remembered for her boundless energy giving nature sense of style warm smile and her beautiful twinkling blue eyes.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years Walter; four children Kenneth Eileen Walter III Nydia Jan Beverly Charles; nine grandchildren Kendra Amy Adam Chase Brianna William Emily Jason and Brian; brothers Jacob and Dewey; sisters Audice Lee Lois and Sallie.
Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the many friends church members and neighbors who offered countless acts of kindness and prayers.
Family will receive friends on Friday May 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Ormond Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at Westside Baptist Church on Saturday May 15th at 1:30 pm with Rev. Robert DeCorah officiating.
