Ivy Peno Reynolds 87 of Deland FL died peacefully at her daughters home on Saturday August 18 2012 after a lengthy illness. A funeral service in her honor will be held on Friday August 24 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Lohman Funeral Home Deland 935 E New York Ave. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until time of service. Interment following service at Deland Memorial Gardens located at 600 East Beresford Ave in Deland. Officiating the service will be Reverend Dan Glenn of Stetson Baptist Church. Ivy was born October 15 1924 in Prairie Queensland Australia to the parents of Albert H and Maude S. Peno. She was the seventh of twelve siblings. She became a war bride when she married William A Reynolds in 1942 when he was stationed in Charter's Towers Queensland Australia as a young sergeant with the American Army Air Corps. She left her beloved homeland of Australia and settled in Deland Fl. in 1954 after military assignments in Germany and New York. She is predeceased by her husband who died in 1977 and by her infant daughter Kathryn who died in 1949. Ivy is remembered by family and friends as a woman of good character with a strong faith in God who possessed wisdom was skillful and showed compassion for others. She loved her new country and became a naturalized American citizen on Nov. 13 1974. She worked for many years as the personnel Supervisor of the F. W. Woolworth store in Deland. She felt her greatest achievement in life was raising a family who love each other and never quarrel. Ivy is survived by her four children: William Reynolds Rodney Reynolds ( Sharon) and Roxanne Gill ( Jerry) of Deland and Randall Reynolds ( Bertie) of Jacksonville Fl. as well as by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Meta Seaniger of Nambucca Heads Au and Billie Weston of Bundaberg Au and brother Charlie Peno of Charters Towers Au along with a large number of Nieces and Nephews throughout Australia.
