Woodrow "Woody" Peckham of Port Orange passed away April 6 2009. A visitation is scheduled for today (Friday) from 12:30 PM until the service time ;1:00 PM at the Daytona Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Daytona Memorial Park.
Woody was born February 6 1924 to Howard and Mary Peckham in Riverside RI. He was an accomplished motorcycle mechanic specializing in Indian and Triumph models learning much of his craft from his father Howard Peckham who was also a gifted Indian mechanic and racer. Woody was known as a happy person who was a friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
Woody was a Floridian for the past 25 years coming from Riverside RI. His wife of 35 years Mary predeceased him as did his brother Donald James Peckham and sister Marion Samuelson. He is survived by his nieces Marilyn Hunt of Riverside RI and Linda McArdle of Massilon OH. Also surviving are great-nephews Matthew Christopher and Scott Hunt and great-niece Kimberly Ross. Two great-great nephews and three great-great nieces also survive.
Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Donations in Woody's name may be directed to the American Heart Association (7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas TX 75231).
