Wilma S. Chesley, 79 of Sulphur Springs, Georgia passed away September 22, 2015 in Orange City, Florida surrounded by family and friends. She was born on November 29, 1935 in Sulphur Springs, Georgia to the late James and Sara Stallings.

Wilma graduated from Chattanooga Central High, Class of 1953, before receiving a bachelor's degree from Tennessee Temple College and a master's degree from Rollins College with a variety of graduate studies at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Wilma was a teacher for more than 40 years in church, private and public schools; the last 29 years at DeLand middle and high school, before retiring in 1997. For 11 years she served as an Alter Guild at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in DeLand, and was a member of West Volusia Retired Educators Association.

Proceeded in death by; her husband, Thomas Evan Chesley, her parents, James R. and Sara C. Stallings, her sisters, Mary Lou and Melba Stallings. She is survived by her brother, Lt. Col. Donald R. Stallings (USA-Ret) and his wife Juanita of Alexandria, Virginia, Teresa S. Stratton and her husband Charles of Youngsville, North Carolina and John M. Stratton (U.S. Navy) and his wife Alicia of Norfolk, Virginia.

A remembrance service will be held on Sunday November 29, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 1401 West New York Avenue DeLand.
