Willis Eugene Ray, 86, of Palm Coast passed away April 15, 2016. He was born and raised in Kewanee, Illinois. In 1951, Willis married Marvel I. Dalton Ray. He received his Doctorate from The University of Illinois. Willis became a professor at Ohio State University. While teaching at Ohio State, he wrote several textbooks including The World of Construction and The World of Manufacturing. He served as President of several professional organizations. Willis and Marvel resided in Columbus, Ohio and New Delhi, India, and ultimately retired to Palm Coast. He became a real estate agent for Palm Coast Home Reality.
Willis enjoyed the golfing lifestyle of Palm Coast and was a member of Pine Lakes Men's Golf Association. However, his greatest interest was spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a beloved husband and father. Willis leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Dianne Bolzenius (Daniel) and his son Steven M. Ray; and his grandchildren: Michael, Stephen, Patrick, and MaryAnn Bolzenius, and Jacob, Brittany, and Bryan Ray; and his nine great-grandchildren. Willis was predeceased by his loving wife Marvel and son Phillip L. Ray. He will be dearly missed by his family.
