Willis T. Pettey Jr. of New Smyrna Beach passed away on Monday morning October 13 2008 in Port Orange. A memorial service in his honor will be set at a later date. Mr. Pettey was born in Massachusetts. He was a proud graduate of Northeastern University in Boston and MIT in Cambridge Massachusetts and a US Navel veteran of WWII.
He was eclectic in his interest and each day was a new adventure to explore not just the world around us but also the worlds of education and art. Willis will best be remembered for his devotion to his wife and sons and his annual visits to one of his favorite places; West Port Island Main . He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years Mary "Betty" Pettey and a son Bradford Pettey. He leaves behind to cherish his memory a son Roger Pettey and his wife Linda and a granddaughter Darby Geller and her husband Calvin.
