William P. Ward, Jr., 69, of Edgewater, passed away on July 31, 2016 at SE Volusia Hospice Care Center.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held from 6-8 pm on Thursday August 4, 2016 in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.
William was born on December 30, 1946 in Daytona Beach to William and Charlotte Ward. He graduated from Mainland High School in 1967. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. In 1968 he began his career with the Daytona Beach Police Department of which he served his community for 36 years. William left the Daytona Beach Police Department in 2003 and continued with private security for Boston Whaler in Daytona Beach making his retirement official in 2010.
William enjoyed car racing and was an avid football fan with the Patriots being his favorite team.
Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, LeeAnn; son, Justin Ward of Edgewater; daughter, Brooke Bartlett of Columbia, SC; three grandchildren, Devon Cizan, Colton Bartlett and Ethan Bartlett; nieces, Dru, Darci, Pris, Sandy, Dana, Angel, Garrett, David and Danny. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Ward, sister, June Ward and his sister-in-law, Connie Ward.
Memorial Donations may be made in his memory to the SE Halifax Health Hospice Care Center, 4140 S. Ridgewood Ave., Edgewater, FL 32141.
