William H. Tilson 93 of Port Orange FL passed away on Saturday May 9 2009 surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange 1201 Dunlawton Ave. Port Orange Fl 32127 on Wednesday May13 2009 at 7:00 pm. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Mr. Tilson was born on a farm in rural Rocky Hill CT. During the depression he worked for President Roosevelt's "CCC" which was Citizens Conservation Corp. near Lake Burnell. This was the preparation of a new road. He lived in Bridgeport CT. and worked at Dictaphone Corp. as a foreman for 30 years and then retired to Brevard N.C. After the passing of his first wife Claire in 1985 he moved to Port Orange to be near his only daughter Patricia Kirkley. He met and married his current wife Lillian and enjoyed bowling and traveling together. They both were members of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. His hobbies included photography and memberships in camera clubs where he earned many top honors for his photos. Bowling was another hobby that he participated in till the age of 90. He also was an Amateur Radio Operator with the call sign "W1JBK". Mr. Tilson is preceded in death by his first wife Claire and his son Lawrence Tilson. Survivors include his wife Lillian of Port Orange his daughter Patricia Kirkley of Port Orange; grandchildren Brett Kwaak of CT. Kelly Cook of Port Orange Bethany Harris of Ft. Pierce Scott Buonanno of CT. Also his great-grandchildren Carley Cook of Port Orange Ian Hillard of Ft. Pierce Brett Kwaak Jr. Joseph Kwaak Erica Buonanno and Sophia Rose Buonanno all of Connecticut.
