William R. Thomas, 88, a resident of Port Orange, FL. passed away on Saturday January 6 ^th . William was born In New York City to William and Philomina Thomas on September 2 8, 1929.  He proudly served his country in both The U.S. Marine Corp and The U.S. Air Force. Bill was a long time member of the YMCA and volunteered at the Port Orange "Y" for many years. He enjoyed exercising, dining out, ballroom dancing, the beach, and was true and avid New York Yankees fan and loved football. Bill was predeceased by the love of his life, Mary and his daughter Lori Thomas. Those he leaves behind to keep his memory alive include his 5 daughters, 7 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and his sister Mary Ehret. A Memorial Service will be held for Bill on Saturday, January 20 at 11a.m. at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park with Military Honors.
