William Edward Preston Roberts Jr. 75 of Daytona Beach FL died Friday November 12 2010. He was born May 11 1935 in Key West FL and was the son of the late William Edward Preston Roberts and Dorothy (Key) Roberts. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Sharon Elizabeth Roberts. He is survived by his wife Jimmie Sue (Grogan) Roberts; one son William Edward Preston Roberts III and wife Joanne; and two grandchildren William Edward Preston Roberts IV and Lauren Grace Roberts. Mr. Roberts proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He had an extensive professional background in politics as well as public and governmental service. His work also included serving the people of the State of Florida Monroe and Volusia counties as well as the city of New Smyrna Beach. His greatest honors included serving as an aide in the Florida Legislature and being appointed the first County Administrator for Monroe County. He had a great love of country and all things political. He was a loving husband father and grandfather and will be remembered by his family for his sense of humor and storytelling.
