Obituary

After a long courageous 7 year battle with cancer, William Becker Monning left his temporary home to be with our Savior on Saturday February 22nd, 2014 at the age of 70.
Bill is predeceased by his parents, Hertha Spencer, William F. Monning; father in law Charles McCracken, who loved him as his own; and his sister Linda Knefelkamp.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Linda, to whom he gave his heart and soul to for 52 years on December 16th, 1961.
Bill is lovingly remembered by his cherished daughters; Leisa (Samuel) Selby, of Edgewater, Jennifer (Robert) Carter, of Oviedo; sister H. Jane Knefelkamp; grandsons, Brandon, Mattheu, Jessee, Tayler, Austin; great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Evan, Brookelynn; and many treasured relatives and friends.
Bill enjoyed watching his Pittsburg Steelers, as well as traveling to Alaska, Ireland, and many other destinations with the love of his life. Above all else Bill enjoyed spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held at Covenant United Methodist, 3701 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange, FL 32129 on Thursday, February 27th, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Paul Pollock officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CAFA at Covent United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. Condolences for the family may be shared at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com
