William E. Attick MAJ Ret. U S A

Funeral service for William E. Attick age 80 of Fairway Estates will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday September 24 in the chapel of Baggett & Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Hills officiating. Calling hours for friends and family will be held Thursday September 23 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Attick passed away on Tuesday September 21 2004 at his residence in Daytona Beach.

Mr. Attick was born in Harrisburg PA on April 10 1924 to William S. and Elsie Attick. In 1941 at the age of 17 he joined the National Guard; beginning his military career. He soon joined the US Army and served his country proudly during both WWII where he achieved the rank of Sergeant and the Korean War where he was commissioned an officer in 1950. He retired as a Major in 1963.

Mr. Attick moved to Daytona Beach in 1977 with his wife Alice from Lexington KY. Among his achievements Mr. Attick was a Board Member and President of the ACT Corporation and of the Stuart-Marchman Center a board member of the Daytona Beach Golf Club a member of the Retired Officers? Association the 6th Calvary Association and a member of the Masons while in Ft. Knox KY.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Alice L. Attick; son William Attick of Olney MD; daughters Elaine Attick of Port Orange FL and Stefanie Walker of Talequah OK; granddaughters Jennifer Attick and Kassandra Walker and great-granddaughter Taylor Ashley McCormick.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Halifax Humane Society 2364 W. LPGA Blvd. Ormond Beach FL
