Obituary

William Kosztolanyi (Papa) 93 of Daytona Beach passed away quietly on Sunday June 24th 2012 surrounded by his loving family at the Hospice Southeast Volusia Care Center in Edgewater.
Mr. Kosztolanyi was born on May 23rd 1919 in Siklos Hungary to Maria and Laszlo Kosztolanyi. In 1947 in Germany he married Magdalena and journeyed to the Central New Jersey area. Starting with a chicken farm he and Magdalena dedicated many years to many different business ventures which included a grocery store deli a restaurant a 42-room hotel and a Car Hop by the New Jersey Shore. Mr. and Mrs. Kosztolanyi retired grocery stored and moved to Daytona Beach in 1972 only to own and operate the Ocean Front Bonaire Villa and manage many area restaurants. They also owned several apartment houses and rental properties.
Mr. Kosztolanyi was an active member of the Epiphany Church in Port Orange where he and Magda devoted countless hours to cooking and bingo. He also was a member and treasurer of the American-Hungarian Social Club for many years where his wife was a co-founder.
Mr. Kosztolanyi was preceded in death by Magdalena his beloved wife of 60 years; his 7 siblings; and his parents.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his three daughters Maria Kosztolanyi Barbara Kosztolanyi and Lisa (Chuck) Gebelein; his grandchildren Erika (James) Beyersdorf Ashley (Ed) Leibowitz Jacqueline Lightsey and Bethany and Willie Gebelein; and his 4 great-grandchildren Drew Beyersdorf and Shira Danny and Avi Leibowitz.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday June 28th 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona. The family will receive guests for a visitation between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
On Sunday July 1st 2012 at 3:00 p.m. a memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church 620 South Grandview Avenue Daytona Beach FL 32118.
