Obituary

Bill Kershaw died Tuesday August 31st at the Port Orange Hospice Care Center surrounded by his wife and family. Bill resided in Ormond since 1972 when he moved from Worcester MA. He founded W.R. Kershaw Inc. a plastic manufacturing company and was the second business in the Ormond Beach Airport Business Park. The blowmolding company specializes in Polycarbonate products including lighting components medical supplies water filters and custom products. Bill was a member of the Society of Plastics Engineers.

Bill was born in Bridgeport CT graduated from Stratford High School served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 4 years and graduated from Miami University of Ohio where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon.

Bill was an avid sportsman beginning with bronco riding in the rodeo as a teenager. He played golf and tennis at Oceanside Country Club where he was a member for over 30 years. He loved to ski. For the past 15 years he enjoyed boating and served on the board at Halifax River Yacht Club.

Music was an important part of his life and he played the piano and guitar and was a fan of many styles of music ranging from Country to Classical. Bill and Elaine traveled extensively and especially loved adventures on their yacht Fifty Fifty.

Survivors include his wife Elaine and his children daughter Betsy Kershaw and husband Jhon Wlaschin of St. Paul MN; son Richard Kershaw and wife Renita Kershaw of Ormond; twin daughters Kimberly Kershaw and Kathryn Kershaw of Portland OR and grandchildren Spencer and Stuart Kershaw and Ruby and Dama Wlaschin. Also his stepchildren Mitchell Moore of Ormond Carol Moore of Bend OR Merry Ann Moore and husband Rob Corrigan of Sisters OR and grandchildren Sarah Moore Drew and Emily Corrigan.

The family will receive friends at the Lohman Ormond Funeral Home 733 W. Granada Ormond Beach on Thursday September 9th from 5:00 ? 6:00 pm to be followed by a memorial service at 6:00 pm. Burial will be at sea at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler County 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129 or to the William Kershaw Memorial Fund at Halifax River Yacht Club 331 S. Beach St. Daytona Beach FL 32114.
