William D. Kennedy Dave died peaceably on Friday morning January 6th at his home. Dave was born on October 12 1941 in Daytona Beach at the Medical Arts Center on Broadway Blvd. to Gus and Nell Kennedy. Volusia County has always been home to Dave and his family. Dave graduated from the old Mainland High School on Bay Street in 1959 and went into the Army in Feb. 1961. Dave was in the Military Police and was discharged in Dec. 1963 after serving 2 ½ years in the Far East. Dave married another native of Daytona Mary Anne Baldwin in Jan. 1964. They have 2 daughters Claudia E. Kennedy Penny and Catherine A. Kennedy Wolfe and a great nephew Chad L. Kennedy who they consider as a son. Dave was in sales for over 25 years and later retired in 2004 after 16 years as a deputy sheriff with Volusia County. During these years he earned a Bachelor?s Degree in 1995 and a Master?s Degree in 1999. Dave liked school and wanted to set an example for the kids. Dave was a supporting member of many Ecological Nature Preservation organizations and Human Rights and Information organizations in his hopes that America could be saved. After retiring Dave and Mary Anne spent as much time as possible at their place in the mountains in Blairsville GA or traveling in their motor home.

Granddaughter Crystal and Grandsons Matthew and Michael brother and sister in law Claude & Bonnie Baldwin and by many special cousins whom he considered his brothers and sisters. The years flew by but they were happy years and now Dave is on another adventure ? hopefully exploring the universe and seeing the sights.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Paul?s Catholic Church on Tuesday at 9:00 am where Dave has been a lifetime member and placed his trust. Services to be conducted by Rev. Jim Smith chaplain of Halifax Medical Center a personal friend who renewed Dave and Mary Anne?s wedding vows on their 25th and 40th wedding anniversaries and also by Dave?s cousins Mike Mann a Presbyterian Minister and Steve Hall an Adventist Chaplain along with Fr. Bob Webster of St. Paul?s Catholic Church who will be conducting the Mass.

Cremation to follow at a later date. All is well. In lieu of flowers please contribute to and support Democratic candidates in the future and hopefully save our great republic which is in danger from within as well as without. God help us all in the future.
