William H. "Bill" Henning

March 27, 1931 – March 25, 2021

William H. "Bill" Henning, 90, of Port Orange, a retired tradesman, passed from this life to the next on Thursday, March 25, 2021, after a brief illness.

Bill was born to William and Ora Henning at their home in Rocky River, Ohio on March 27, 1931. He was the youngest brother to Bob, Jane, and Jim. Bill was always good for a story about his family along with many adventures and miss-adventures with his brothers, high school friends and years in the military.

Bill is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marilyn Henning; three sons, Mark Henning, David (Robin) Henning, Scott (Diane) Henning; one daughter, Cheryl (Matt) Burtner; one brother, James Henning and several nephews and nieces.  Bill has 19 grandchildren: Christian McCoy, Shane (Amanda) Henning, Jessica (Brandon) Senior, Rich Henning, Matt Henning, Steven (Janelle) Burtner, Aaron (Nicole) Burtner, Jonathan (Libby) Burtner, Kayla (Adam) Ross, Alicia (Tim) King, and Anthony (Vivian) Pletcher; 13 great-grandsons, 7 great-granddaughters and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Bill and Marilyn Carroll Stelzer married on October 4, 1952 at First Methodist Church in Lorain, OH.  Both were born and raised only twenty-two miles away from each other in the Cleveland area but met in St. Louis.

Bill served his country in both the Army and the Air Force from 1951 - 1956 with duty stations in Belleville, IL; Macon GA; Dayton, OH; and Frankfort, Germany.

In 1956, after serving his country, Bill and Marilyn built their first home together in Lake Milton, OH while he was employed at Carlson Electric in Youngstown and later with Albee Homes in Griffith, IN.

After living in Southgate MI, Bill moved his family to Daytona Beach Shores in 1967 where he entered the cabinetry trade with Downer Cabinets; ModernAge Kitchens; B & H Cabinets (his installation business); and Lighthouse Cabinets. Bill was known as a "Jack-of-All-Trades and Master-of-Many" with a passion of working with his hands; passing his craft on to his sons; and helping others with their home projects and repairs.
