William Francis Grennon Jr. 85 of Ormond Beach FL passed away on January 25 2012 at the Health Center of Daytona Beach. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Jeanne M. Grennon in 2004. He is survived by two daughters Kathleen Grennon and her husband Paul Chaney Newburyport MA and Maureen Henline and her husband Henry Ellicott City MD; son William F. Grennon III Gloucester MA; brothers Donald Grennon Atlanta GA and Vincent Grennon Payson AZ; grandchildren Jocelyn Ian Kyle Maura Jeanmarie Colleen Mary Kate Will Nina Bonnee. Bill was born on February 7 1926 in Brooklyn NY to William and Elizabeth (Ginnitty) Grennon. He served in the US Army Air Force. He graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering from Villanova University and received a MS in Business from Johns Hopkins University.
He was an electrical engineer for Westinghouse Electric Co. in Baltimore MD for 41 years; first as an electrical engineer from 1951- 1968 and then as international marketing manager for Westinghouse International in Rio de Janeiro Brazil Caracas Venezuela and Baltimore until he retired in 1992.
He relocated to Ormond Beach in 1992 where he was a member of the Ormond Beach Show Club and the Ormond Beach Kopy Kats. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren the beach traveling and golf. His generous spirit and humility will continue to inspire us.
The family will receive friends on Friday February 3rd between the hours of 5-7 at the Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd Ormond Beach. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday February 4th at 10:30 am at St. Brendan's Catholic Church; 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd Ormond Beach. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Memorial Donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation in honor of his wife Jeanne.
