William R. Farrell age 91 of Deland passed away on Monday December 31 2012. A viewing will be held Friday January 4 2012 at Lohman Funeral Home Deland between the hours of 3:00 and 5:00 P.M. A Prayer service will begin in the Chapel at 5:00 P.M. William was born on May 14 1921 in Waterbury Connecticut to the late William and Mary (Quinn) Farrell. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps and served proudly during World War II. William was a prisoner of war in Germany from February 22 1944 until June 12 1945. He also received a purple heart during his time of service. He worked in sales and at one time owned a Jeep Dealership in Connecticut. William was an avid reader and spent time collecting books. William is preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Farrell siblings; Rita Claire Henry Joseph Eleanor and Frances. He is survived by his siblings James E. Farrell Jean Drexler; children Thomas Farrell William Farrell Richard Farrell Nancy Poust Patti Catlani and Phyllis Farrell. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
