William E.
Myers
Jul 14, 1931 — Nov 30, 2020
Ormond Beach
William "Bill" Myers , 89, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away peacefully on Monday, November 30, 2020 at his home.
Your Mom & Dad, Hazel Caroline and William J. Myers were so proud of you. From your track star ability at LaSalle-Peru High School in LaSalle-Peru, Illinois to the University of Southern California and on to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Price-Waterhouse tried to recruit you;, however, you chose the United States Air Force, assigned to the Office of Special Investigations, serving your beloved USA in the Korean Conflict. After Korea you settled in California, Illinois and finally Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
As an interest in real estate, you took a 34 acre lake in the middle of the I-595, State Road 84 and Florida Turnpike Interchange in Davie, Florida and turned it into a 34 acre parcel of real estate. What a job that was - 7 years , 7 days a week and your greatest accomplishment. You also loved ocean, lake, river or just your backyard lake catching fish. Once you caught a 40 pound Cubera Snapper off a dock in Marsh Harbor. Your life was full of good things - after many fishing expeditions in the Atlantic Ocean on a Saturday night you would end up giving your Grouper, Snapper, Wahoo, Dolphin fish to the Halfway House for Recovering Addicts on Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale. Those fellows certainly appreciated you and those fish. Your other love was your Turbo Charged Aero Commander 680 Airplane. He loved that plane and when his diabetic legs gave up he would always say "I miss my flying so much"! Fishing, Flying, the Miami Dolphins, and real estate were his babies.
He had a heart as big as the Empire State Building - always considerate of his employees, people in need and me, his 53 year partner. There are so many sweet stories and many funny stories. The one "funny" story is about in one and only purchase of a race horse named "Crooked Neck" Clippity Clop down the track in the lead, going very fast, crashed thru a fence and died right there. Bill, with his spunky nature said - Oh Well, Crooked needs a burial spot - lets take care of him, no more horses for me. Rest in peace beloved one - Happy times were many and giving to others were many. I loved you for all our years and I love you now, Sylvia
