In Loving Memory of William Donald "Don" Coy
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of William Donald "Don" Coy, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, on June 12, 2025. Don's remarkable life, filled with love, unwavering dedication, and countless cherished moments, will forever remain in our hearts. Born on April 7, 1948, in Aurora, Illinois, Don was preceded in death by his loving mother, Emily Mae Precup; his father, William Floyd Coy; and his two brothers, Dale Robert Buchardt and Dennis Scott Coy.
A Life of Intellect, Determination, and Music
Don was a man defined by his sharp intellect, a wonderful sense of humor, and remarkable determination. He pursued his Bachelor's degree in business at Aurora College, where he excelled academically. His exceptional work ethic led him to a fulfilling 35-year career at Western Electric, which later became AT&T, from which he proudly retired. Beyond his professional life, Don had a vibrant zest for living, evident in his many passions. He was a talented drummer, and in his twenties, he masterfully juggled working at Western Electric, pursuing his degree at night, and playing weekend gigs with his bands, The Debonair's, and later a polka band, all to help support his beloved family. In his retirement, he found great joy in his theater room, where he loved to immerse himself in action movies. He also found immense joy in traveling the world with his family, creating indelible memories with his wife and children. Don truly embraced every moment with a joyful spirit.
The Heart of His Family
Family was the absolute cornerstone of Don's life. He found the love of his life, Anna, on a blind date, and together they built a beautiful marriage that spanned an incredible 57 years. They lovingly raised two children, instilling in them the enduring values of compassion, perseverance, and, above all, love. Don's greatest joy was simply being with his family, whether it was embarking on memorable vacations, enjoying weekend outings, or sharing quiet, precious moments at home.
A Lasting Legacy
Don's legacy is a testament to his immense love, boundless generosity, and quiet strength. He touched countless lives with his kind heart and gentle soul. His wisdom, his teachings, and every memory we created with him will continue to live on in our hearts. He is survived by his devoted wife, Anna Mercie; his loving children, Richard (Connie) Coy and Kristina (Scott) Buxton; and his three cherished grandchildren, Emily Grace Beach, Abigail Ann Coy, and Braden Allen Coy, all of whom will proudly carry on his memory.
Funeral Service
A funeral service to celebrate Don's remarkable life will be held at 12:00 PM on June 30th at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, located at 113 Lockwood Blvd, Oviedo, FL 32765.
Forever in Our Hearts

We find comfort in knowing he is watching over us, and we will honor his memory by carrying his love and lessons forward in our own lives. Rest in peace, Don.
