Obituary

William Carlyle Dabney 77 of Palm Coast passed away Thursday October 8 2009. The family will be receiving visitors from 6-8 PM Tuesday October 13 2009 at the funeral home with a funeral service to be held 10AM Wednesday October 14 2009 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Palm Coast. Burial will follow Thursday October 15 2009 at the Jacksonville National Cemetery with full military honors. He was an extremely active person in New York as a member of the NAACP Kwanis Club of Corona/Elmhurst East Elmhurst/Corona Civic Association and founder and Past President of the International Broomstick Derby Inc. and the Flushing Meadow Soap Box Derby both through which he taught special education behaviorally challenged children math science teamwork and sportsmanship. In Palm Coast he was a very active member of the Experimental Aircraft Association the Academy of Model Aeronautics the African American Cultural Society and was a Flagler County School District School Volunteer both a Mason and a Shriner and an avid jazz lover. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 47 years Joan daughter Jasmin and (future) son-in-law William Jackson of Fort Washington Maryland and aunts Ruth Bishop and Laura Mandeville both of Green Valley Arizona.
