William E. Burwell age 77 of Pelican Bay Daytona Beach FL died on Jan 30 2011. Bill was born in Potsdam NY and graduated from Clarkson College of Technology in Civil Engineering in 1956. He then served in the Army Infantry and worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers on the St. Lawrence Seaway project in New York. In 1961 he began a career with the NY State Department of Transportation as a project engineer. He retired from state service in 1992. In addition he and his wife operated a seasonal resort business for 48 years in the Adirondack Mountains in Upstate NY. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Those who are left to cherish Bill's memory are his wife Janet; one daughter Kim (Husband: Bob) Karr of Ballston Lake NY; two sons Mark (wife: Rose) Burwell of Williamsburg VA; and Scott (wife: Joanne) Burwell of Hooksett NH; four grandchildren; as well as a sister Mary Lou (Bill) Lauper of Richmond VA. A memorial service will take place in Upstate NY in the Spring. Bill's family and friends will greatly miss him.
