William Aloysius Brogan Jr. 75 passed away February 7 2010 after a battle with Lung Cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family in his final days. Bill known to some as "Butch" was born on June 6 1934 in Wilkes-Barre PA. At a young age he and his family moved to Elizabeth NJ. As an adult he moved to Daytona Beach FL. A combat wounded veteran of the Korean conflict he enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 and served with the 224th Infantry Regiment and was awarded 2 Purple Hearts and 1 Bronze Star Medal. He was the post commander of the American Legion Post 248 (Colonia NJ) Post 50 (Daytona Beach FL) the American Legion Post 270 (Port Orange FL) the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 84 (Daytona Beach) the Commander and later Adjutant of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Daytona Beach FL. He owned several service stations in Florida and New Jersey and was a mechanic for most of his life. He later found enjoyment working with drug dogs at K-9 security for Hank Nolin in Port Orange FL. He lived his last few months with his daughter and son-in-law Maggie and Ray Craddock Jr. (FL). He is also survived by his wife Irene; son and daughter-in-law James and Sarah Brogan (FL); daughters Kate Brogan-Haas (OH) Mary and Paul O'Hayon-Ankney (PA) and Bianca and James Brogan-Yasika (FL); as well as Helene and Warren Nahulak (NJ); Walter and Vickey Kulaga (NJ); and Fred and Jacqui Kulaga (England); sisters Mary Ann Doty (PA); Teresa Weiss (NJ); Judy and Ed Boone (NJ); Beth and Glenn Iverson (PA); Kate and Bob Fettweis (NJ); 11 grand-daughters; 7 grandsons; 9 great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Thursday February 11 2010 at 11:00am at Basilica of St. Paul's Catholic Church 317 Mullally Street Daytona Beach FL. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made in his name to Disabled American Veterans Humane Society and American Cancer Society.
