William H. Booms of Deltona FL and Hartwell GA went peacefully home to be with the Lord after an extended illness on Thursday February 16th 2012 at the age of 80.
Bill was born on December 7th 1931 in Harbor Beach MI. He was the oldest son of the late Marcus and Mary Booms. He served in the U.S. Army and was later employed as a merchant Marine. During his career he was employed by US Steel for 15 years and then spent 25 years with Medusa Cement working on the Medusa Challenger retiring as Chief Engineer in 1991. He was known to be an accomplished mechanic and master of all trades.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years Audrey Booms children Nancy Paul (Ron) Orange Park FL Mark Booms (Beverly) Jamestown IN Jon Booms Orlando FL and Dena Arcaro (Paul) Mills River NC. Eight grandchildren; Ryan Paul William & Valerie Booms Jacob & Madison Booms and Ariana Adam & Brandon Arcaro.
Twelve siblings Brothers; Don Jim Chuck Dennis & Raymond and Sisters; Dorothy Arlene Helen Grace Ann Rose Marie and Joan.

Bill was a devoted and loving husband father and grandfather. He was passionate about spending time with his family and enjoyed the time spent at his vacation home in Hartwell GA. He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit and optimistic outlook on life.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday February 21st at St. Ann's Catholic Church DeBary FL.
