William "Bill" Ross Mowery, Sr., passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2013 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his loving companion and wife of thirty five years, Juanita. He is also survived by his son, William Ross Mowery, Jr., local area and daughter, Tammy Jo Arnette, Long Beach, CA; brothers, Larry (Robin) Vancini and Don (Lynda) Vancini, Port Orange, Florida. He was predeceased by his mother Ruth Vancini and daughter, Deborah Mowery. Bill was born in Wadesboro, North Carolina and came to the Port Orange area as a child. He always spoke highly of all the friends that he grew up with as well as his present friends, which are many. He was in the Army as a Paratrooper and was Staff Sergeant with medals of commendation: National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Parachutist Badge and Expert Rifleman, Stationed in Korea. Bill was a member of American Legion, Post 270, AMVETS Post 91, and Fraternal Order of Eagles, Post 4089. He retired as a real estate investor. In lieu of services and remembrances, his request was that he would like all of you to spend the time celebrating life with those people important to you.
