Willard Louis Counterman age 67 of Edgewater went to be with the Lord April 24 2011. With a heavy heart we bid farewell to a man of few words and many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 7 2011 at 2 p.m. at Victorious Life Church 3489 S. Clyde Morris Blvd Port Orange FL 32129. Pastor Thomas Finken will be officiating. Willard was born October 2 1943 in Easton PA the son of late Woodrow Wilson Counterman and Mary Johnson Counterman. Willard resided in Pennsylvania most of his life where he was a truck driver and for the last six years had resided in Florida. He was a volunteer Firefighter in Pen Argyl from 1968-1977. Willard was a kind and light hearted man who loved to tell jokes wearing cowboy hats and went by the nickname ""Butch"". On Sunday you would find him at church by the door greeting people into the house of worship. He also could be found on Monday mornings with the Christian Men's Coffee Club. Mr. Counterman is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years Elsie Counterman; one brother Raymond Counterman of New Jersey; five sisters Alverna Mayers Deloris Knecht Lila Metz Cindy Buss and Janet Repsher all of Pennsylvania along with numerous nieces and nephews. And last but not least his Aunt Viola.
