Wilbur Silva, 92 passed away Monday December 6th in Edgewater Florida at the Halifax Health Hospice Care Center. Bill was born in Oakland California to Thomas and Augustina Silva in 1924. He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in both Africa and Australia. Following his discharge Bill moved to Savannah, Ga. with his wife Ruth, where he was a display manager for Sears. Bill made the move to Daytona Beach with Ruth in 1953 and started his career in carpentry, working up to master carpenter. Following his retirement, he worked at Dillard's, volunteered at Halifax Hospital as a patient escort, and was an ambassador at Daytona International Airport. Bill loved, and had a wonderful talent for drawing and was also a model train enthusiast, but most of all he was a devout family man raising 3 daughters with his wife, Ruth, who they lost in 1998. Bill is survived by his 3 daughters, Pamela (Bruce) Woodworth, Deborah Silva, Cynthia Bohr (Rick Howard), 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. A visitation for Bill will be held on Monday, December 12 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona beginning at 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30.
