Obituary

William Lenford Davis 83 of Daytona Beach Shores passed away on April 1 2012 at his residence. A Visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Monday April 9 2012 in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday April 10 2012 also in the Chapel at the Funeral Home. William Lenford Davis Jr. was born in Miami Florida on September 3 1928 to William Sr. and Lena Carter Davis. William graduated from Miami Senior High School in 1946 and has a B.S.E.E. from the University of Miami. He is a retired Florida P.E. William known to all as Bill married his first wife Wilhelmine Lamberg (Helen) in Germany in 1954 where he was stationed in the U.S. Army. Upon coming to America he became a citizen and they had two children James Mitchell and Lisa Anne. Bill worked for FPL 35 years in various positions. They raised their family in Hialeah and Pembroke Pines. He retired in 1989. Helen passed away in 1995. In 1997 Bill married an FPL widow Margaret Hoffman known to all as Peggy. Peggy had a surviving son named Kenneth and a deceased daughter named Diane. Bill and Peggy moved to Pompano Beach in 1998 and then to Daytona Beach in 2002. They were active in the Catholic Church the Elks the P.O.R.T. Travel Club The Greater Daytona Beach Republican Club and the Northern Division FPL Retirees Chapter. Bill and Peggy enjoyed traveling abroad and visiting their children in the States. Bill is survived by his daughter Lisa; son Jim; and his granddaughter Penny. He will be missed by his friends at Epiphany Catholic Church and the Port Orange Elks. He will be buried in the Davis Family Cemetery in Redwood Virginia with his first wife mother and father and many relatives. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to a charity of one's choice .
