A Graveside Funeral Service for Wayne Morgan Pontious age 76 who passed away Saturday Oct. 23rd at The Arbors in Ormond Beach will be held on Wednesday Oct. 27th at an afternoon time to be announced at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell FL. Wayne was born to Leslie and Myrtle Pontious in Chicago IL on January 18 1928. He served in the US Army in Japan as an Orthopedic Medic and later graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park FL. He worked in heavy steel construction in Illinois as president of Kenwood Construction Co. for 22 years. He and his wife moved from Naperville IL to Ocala FL in 1979 upon his retirement and later joined his two sons in Ormond Beach FL where he has resided for the past four years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ocala and enjoyed raising and training horses playing golf and fishing. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 40 years Louise who passed away in Feb. 1995. He is survived by his three children his son Jeffrey Pontious and his son Robert Rob and Cheryl Pontious all of Ormond Beach; his daughter Karen and husband Brad Luger of Tampa FL; his 8 grandchildren Lauren Pontious Jordan and Rachael Pontious and Charlie Claire Chandler Cayley and Carley Luger.
