Obituary

Warren Ray Sweeney (Loved son, brother, father and friend), of Port Orange, FL, moved on to his heavenly home at the age of 54 on Thursday, July 11th 2024 after a short illness.

Warren a precious blonde hair, blue eyed boy was born on December 22nd 1969 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, FL. His parents Mary Lou and Robert Ray Sweeney raised him with his sister Sonya primarily on Easy Street in Holly Hill and Willow Run in Port Orange. They were soon joined by baby brother Robert and all attended Derbyshire Baptist Church where they accepted Christ as their Savior and were baptized.

Warren played football and trumpet at Derbyshire Christian and attended High School at Spruce Creek High School where he was a major part of the Spruce Creek Band Program as a Tuba player and made life-long friends. After High School he went on to work at Quincey's Steakhouse and Duff's Buffet. As a Master Griller, he said he "never had a steak come back!" He moved from there to a career at Rent-A-Center as a Regional Manager where he earned many awards for good service and trips to Vegas to show off and hone his mad poker skills.

Some of his loves were fishing, saltwater aquariums, football (Steelers, Seahawks and most of all FLORIDA STATE), movies, chatting with the neighbors and most of all bragging about his four beautiful children. He enjoyed the memories of their childhood and being a father. At amusement parks his favorite ride was the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith. Warren's historical hero was evangelist Dwight L. Moody and his favorite Bible verse was Philippians 4:13 "I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me." He loved to make others smile whether through gift giving or just making silly faces and letting you know he cared.

Warren leaves to cherish his memory: His children; Jessica and husband Patrick of NC, Katie and husband Justin of Gainesville, FL, Warren Jr. of Gainesville, FL and Will of Clermont, FL. Mother; Mary Lou Sweeney, Father; Robert Ray Sweeney, Sister; Sonya and her husband Lyle Shearer, Brother; Robert Bryan Sweeney and his wife Lisa, Niece; Kiera and her family AJ, Sophia, Juliana and AJ Jr., Nephew; Dylan, Sister; Rosie Gilbert and a host of other uncles, aunts, cousins and beloved friends.
