Obituary

Warren S. Chaplin, 86, a resident of Gainesville, Florida, entered into rest on Saturday, October 20 th . Warren was born to Richard and Frances Chaplin in Norfolk, Virginia on February 20, 1932. He grew up in Norfolk, earned his Bachelor's Degree from Virginia Tech and proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Following his military service, Warren went to work for the F.A.A. as an air traffic controller, a career that spanned more than 50 years. Warren enjoyed life and all that it had to offer, especially his family; and living in Gainesville, he was a true Florida Gators fanatic.  Warren was predeceased by his parents, Richard and Frances, his step parents Bessie Chaplin and Wade Stephenson, and his infant daughter, Carolyn Lane.

He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife of 38 years, Elsa Fuentes Chaplin, his 5 children, Richard Chaplin (Terrie), Dianna Stone (Volney), Donald Chaplin (Lynn), Dennis Polo Chaplin, and Stephen Chaplin (Malay), his 7 grandchildren, Carolyn Bracey, Nicolette Dixon, Amber Ye, Michael Chaplin, Amanda Burkhart, Jarrod Chaplin, Jasmine Phimon, 3 great-grandchildren, Samantha Comstock, Zander and Zaylee Dixon, and his beloved dog, Princess.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Warren today,Thursday, October 25 at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona beginning at 2p.m. The family will be receiving guests from 1p.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation in Warren's name to the American Cancer Society.
