A memorial service for Ward K. Hallberg 44 of Ormond Beach will be held in the chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Beach on Wednesday May 16 at 3:00 p.m. His family will receive friends on Tuesday May 15 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Ward peacefully passed away at the Hospice facility in Port Orange after a battle with malignant melanoma cancer. He was born in Jamestown New York in 1963. After graduating from Jamestown High School class of '81 he briefly attended Jamestown Community College after which he moved to Daytona Beach and enrolled in DBCC. While in Daytona Ward met and married Eileen Scullen originally of Youngstown Ohio. He was employed as a maintenance technician for the Waffle House restaurant chain. He was proud of the fact that he was a licensed heating and air-conditioning techician in the State of Florida. Ward was interested in all sports both as a spectator and as a participant. He was an avid Buffalo Bills fan and he loved attending the NASCAR races in Daytona. He also enjoyed viewing and working on vintage cars. Ward will be greatly missed by his family and a great many friends. He was predeceased by a brother Brent and both his paternal and maternal grandparents. He is survived by his wife Eileen and his six-year-old son Brent his parents Ralph and Sylvia Hayes Hallberg of Leesburg Florida and three brothers Martin of Fayetteville Georgia Kent of McClean Virginia and Kurt of Herndon Virginia.
