Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered for Walter A. Reilly Jr. 76 of Ormond Beach FL on Monday February 1 2010 at 9:30 AM at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Father Bill Zamborsky as Celebrant. His family will receive friends for visitation at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd Ormond Beach on Sunday January 31 2010 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Mr. Reilly passed away suddenly of heart attack on Tuesday January 26 2010 at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial. Walter was born December 3 1933 in New York NY the son of Walter A. and Grace Mayer Reilly. After graduating from Boston University in Massachusetts with his Bachelors Degree in Economics and Finance he entered the U.S. Air Force where he achieved the rank of Captain. He was attached to the Strategic Air Command and piloted B-47's and B-52's. He left the Air Force in 1968 and became a Financial Planner. He was an avid lover of history and astrology but his first love was always the Catholic Church. He was a Eucharistic minister at St. Louis Catholic Church in Miami and Prince of Peace Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Alhambra. Walter was also a member of Quiet Birdmen a fraternal order of pilots and the Daytona Beach Quarterback Club. Walter was married for over 50 years to his loving wife Maureen who passed away in 2007. Surviving him are two sons Walter and his wife Cynthia Reilly West Palm Beach William and his wife Jeanette Reilly Denver CO. Two daughters Brenda and her husband Dr. Anthony Cantwell Ormond Beach Maureen and her husband Dr. Darwich Bejany Weston FL and a sister Maureen Reilly Palm Bay FL. Twelve grandchildren Michelle Cantwell Andrea Horvath Lauren Cantwell Nicole Bejany Joseph Bejany Raquel Bejany Kyle Reilly Shane Reilly Eric Reilly William Reilly Shannon Reilly Erin Reilly and his 2 dogs Cuddles and Precious. Memorial donations can be made in his name to The Prince of Peace Memorial Foundation. Condolences may be shared with the family online at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
