Walter Nathan Pendley. 79, of Daytona Beach Shores, FL, went to be with the Lord, Monday January 6, 2020. He was born April 1, 1940 in Washington DC, the son of the late James and Ruby (Everhart) Pendley.
Walter played football, baseball and basketball while at Fairfax High School and at Randolph Macon College in Ashland, VA. He grew up in Virginia and later moved to Florida. He helped organize and was an original founding member of the First Baptist Church of Daytona where he was also a deacon and a Sunday School Teacher.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Fischer Pendley, his daughter, Lou Ann Moffatt (Andrew), his grandaughter, Rachel Moffatt and his four grandson's, Daniel and Stephen Moffatt and Conner and Karsten Moffatt.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am Saturday January 11, 2020 at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 2331 US Highway Business 340, Luray, VA, 22835' Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am at the church. Graveside committal will be at 12:00 Noon at Coverstone Cemetery, Shenandoah, VA.
A meal will be served after the burial back at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
There will be a memorial service at First Baptist Church of Daytona at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made in Walter's memory to; Mt, Carmel Baptist Church, Sarasota Baptist Church or to First Baptist Church of Daytona all for their building funds please.
