Walter P. Katovitch 88 of Daytona Beach Fl passed away on Tuesday December 28 2010 at Halifax Health Hospice Center. Born on November 25 1922 in Jordanville NY he was the son of Frank and Anna Katovitch. He graduated in 1942 from VanHornesville High School in New York. After graduation he started a life long career in the dairy industry. He was the plant manager for Queensboro Creamery Everson's Dairy and Adler's Creamery. Until his retirement in 1980 he was employed at Delwood Foods in Delhi NY where he crafted their cottage cheese production. When he retired he moved to Daytona Beach Fl. In retirement he and his wife Marie enjoyed building unique wind chimes birdhouses and birdfeeders. They also enjoyed making holiday fruit cakes and sending them to relatives and friends. He took tremendous pride in growing his own grapefruits tangerines and tangelos. Survivors include his daughter Aline & husband Roy Fister of LasCruces NM. his son Dale & wife Diane & grandchildren Celie and Samuel of Union Springs NY. Also his sister Harriett & husband David Gumport of Greenville NY and sister Elizabeth (Betty) & husband Fred Hammond of Mohawk NY. Plus many nieces and nephews. Also a very special friend Colleen Cline. He is predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children Lois (Bentley) by his second wife Helen (Crews) and his third wife Marie (Vickerson). Also his brothers Frank and Edward and his sisters Stella Perry and Evelyn Breen. Burial will take place at the Fort Plain Cemetery Fort Plain NY in the spring.
