Walter "Wally" Eugene Juzenas, 71, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Friday, May 26th at 11:00 am at Santa Maria del Mar Catholic Church; 915 N. Central Avenue Flagler Beach. Wally was born June 25, 1945 in Kenosha, Wisconsin to Walter and Elizabeth (Brobrik) Juzenas.
Notoriously self-reliant and industrious, he worked an odd lot of jobs to pay his way through the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, graduating with a Bachelors of Business Administration degree in marketing and meeting his wife of 49 years, Karen E. Jensen of nearby Racine. Later, attending night school, he completed a Masters in Business Administration from St. Louis University.
From working with early computers programmed with punch cards, to retiring from Miller Brewing Company as Director of Logistics and Distribution he had a long career in the brewing industry. Along the way, he gathered friends from outside and inside work, drawn by his generosity, compassion, and can-do spirit. As the volunteer President of the Highland Community School in Milwaukee, he played a key role in the school's growth and success. After retiring in 2003, Wally and Karen split time between Fish Creek in Wisconsin's Door County and Halifax Plantation in Ormond Beach. In Fish Creek, Wally volunteered at the Peninsula School of Art, painting many of the school's buildings. Wally picked up running late in life, completing several marathons including the Boston Marathon. He was a life-long tennis player and enjoyed playing golf after moving to Florida. He will be missed in the many tennis and golf leagues he participated in as well as by the youth he mentored through Kairus Prison Ministry International. Wally realized one of his greatest passions in retirement, riding his meticulously kept Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling to many biker festivals and touring the country with Karen and friends.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Ann. He is survived by his wife Karen. His children, Kirstin Juzenas, Eric Juzenas and his wife Jackie, Heather Meaux and her husband Eric, Matthew Juzenas and his husband Mike, and Peter Juzenas and his wife Erin. His grandchildren, Allison, Bella, Elliot, Jake, Lilly, Norah, Hannah and her mother Katie Juzenas, and Walter. And his siblings, Lillian Bocik, Robert Juzenas and wife Bonnie, and Kathy Juzenas and husband Carl.
