The Legendary Commander Walter DeCock 63 passed away peacefully Tuesday evening May 11th 2010 at his Ponce Inlet home surrounded by his family of friends. A gathering of friends is scheduled for 5:00pm - 7:00pm Sunday May 16th 2010 at the Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange chapel 1201 Dunlawton Ave. followed by a celebration of the life of Walter DeCock at Yayas beach bar. Born in Belgium September 8th 1948 Walter was an orphan who became a NATO Commander an avid commercial pilot artist and vintage car and boat collector. He spoke 11 languages and traveled the world extensively and enjoyed spending time with friends. Walter was gifted in being able to pack several lifetimes of experiences into just the one he was given and would stop at absolutely nothing to help a friend in need. Fond of proclaiming ""I'm Walter I LOVE myself! he encouraged others to love themselves as well. He will be sorely missed by an extensive group of friends.
