W. Stewart Stanley 82 of Ormond Beach FL formerly of Pennsylvania passed away January 9 2012.A memorial service will be held at Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City Pennsylvania at a later date.
Stewart was born on April 21 1929 in Oil City PA to the late Walter and Lois Stanley. In his youth he worked for the family nursery and had a great love for agriculture. Following high school he attended Pennsylvania State University where he was an active member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. Stewart graduated with a degree in Agriculture and Chemistry. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for six years and was honorably discharged with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant.
Stewart retired at the age of 55 after a long and distinguished career from Unisys and Burroughs Corporation where he led very successful sales teams for many years. In his free time he enjoyed golf boating and spending time with family and friends. Stewart was extremely proud of his Alma-Mater Penn State. He was a devoted son husband father and grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Lois Stanley son Richard Stanley and daughter in law Sandra Lamb Stanley.
Those left to cherish his memory are Mary E. Stanley daughters Susan (George) Polino and Diane (Rollo) Thompson grandchildren Katie (Rob) Brower Lynn Stanley Christopher Stanley Anne Polino George Polino III and Alexi Thompson. He also leaves behind his brother Richard Stanley and many extended family members and close friends.
