Obituary

Vonnee Welch was welcomed into this world by Norman and Kathryn Burruss on August 6, 1947. She peacefully passed away with her family by her side on September 4, 2023. She is survived by her husband, L. Dean Welch, her two daughters, Lisa Halley (Todd) and Lori Oliveira (Dennis), her brother, Norman Burruss, and her five grandchildren, Ryan Halley (Ashley LaRue), Jarrett Halley (Alix Saavedra), Deano Oliveira, Danielle Oliveira, and Deanna Oliveira. She is also survived by her numerous family and friends. Vonnee was born and raised in Rhoadesville, Virginia. She attended high school at Orange County High School where a fellow classmate introduced her to Dean. After high school, she eventually married Dean, and they moved to Madison, Virginia together. While living in Madison, she worked for Jones Auto Parts and started raising her two daughters. In 1979, they moved to Stafford, Virginia, where she worked in the Human Resources Department for Stafford County. In 1991, Vonnee and her husband moved to New Port Richey, Florida, where she attended nursing school and eventually became a registered nurse. After her retirement in 2011, they moved to Palm Coast, Florida, where she enjoyed everything the beautiful beaches had to offer. Her family showed her lots of love during her final few months of life. We will be celebrating her life in both FL and VA.
