Virginia Quelch Sands Jenkins passed away Friday, April 10, 2015, after a short illness, at The Garden Assisted Living Facility in Daytona Beach, Florida. She was born on September 22, 1921, the youngest of eight children to George and Ella Quelch of Oakmont, Pennsylvania.

Ms. Jenkins moved to Daytona Beach in the mid 1930's from Pennsylvania and completed high school at Mainland High School in Daytona Beach. After her high school graduation, she married William E. Sands, Jr. and together they raised their two sons living first in Holly Hill, then in New Smyrna Beach and finally returning to Holly Hill. During these years, Ms. Jenkins worked at Fish Memorial Hospital in new Smyrna Beach, later at Central Junior High School in Holly Hill, and finally at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach. Later in life, Ms. Jenkins remarried Dr. Paul Jenkins and they spent their retirement years extensively traveling throughout Europe.

Ms. Jenkins was preceded in death by husband William E. Sands, Jr.; husband Dr. Paul H. Jenkins; brother William; brother George, Jr.; brother Richard ; brother Ralph; sister Dorothy; sister Edith; sister Betty; and by one granddaughter, Luann Sands Kedel of Conyers, Georgia. Ms. Jenkins is survived by two sons: William E. Sands, III and daughter in law Lois of Daytona Beach, Florida; Richard D. Sands and fiance Jane Rogers of Boone, North Carolina and Daytona Beach, Florida; grandson Larry Sands and wife Tania of Savannah, Georgia; granddaughter Suzanne Sands-Marlow and husband Todd of Monticello, Georgia; grandson Nicholas Sands and fiance Kelly Durham of Charlotte, North Carolina; and granddaughter Meredith Baker Sands Whitworth and husband Brendan of New York City, New York. She is also survived by great granddaughter Danielle Marlow Stoffel and husband Phil of Appleton, Wisconsin; great granddaughter Lauren Sands and fiance Kenny Avant of Savannah, Georgia; great grandson Luke Kedel of Atlanta, Georgia, and one great great grandson Reuel Stoffel of Appleton, Wisconsin.

A Graveside Memorial Service honoring the life of Virginia Quelch Sands Jenkins will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida.
