Obituary

Memorial Services for Virginia M. (Ginny) Saunders 80 of Daytona Beach who passed away on February 19 2007 will be held at 1:30 pm Friday February 23 2007 at First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach with Pastor Lowell Lucas officiating. Virginia was born on November 14 1926 to the late John and Mabel Martin in Schenectady New York. Ginny moved to the area in the summer of 1963 from Pittsfield Mass with her three children. She was one of the first woman draftspersons to work for General Electric was later employed by Russell and Axon civil engineers/surveyors before returning to G.E. where she remained until her retirement in 1990. Virginia enjoyed travel the arts and was an active participant in many community organizations. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Daytona Beach for 40 years the Halifax Camera Club for over 20 years the Christian Women's Club for more than 20 years and was a volunteer at the Museum of Arts and Sciences for more than 15 years. Virginia was cherished by her family and by her large and ever-growing circle of friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith and zest for life. She leaves to cherish her memory of their lives together her children Gail Fearn Judith Sasso-Mason and David Sasso; three grandchildren Alex Fearn Grace Mason and Samuel Sasso; brother Merlin Martin; nephew Gary Martin and niece Debbie Martin. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 15 years Edward Saunders. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in honor of Virginia to: Museum of Arts and Sciences Attn: Development Director 352 S. Nova Rd Daytona Beach FL 32114.
