Virgil E Holdridge, age 77, of Port Orange, passed away on April 17, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2014 in the Chapel of the Funeral Home at 7:00P.M., the family will receive friends for a gathering one hour prior.
Virgil was born on July 1, 1936 in Daytona Beach, Florida to the late Myrtice and Henry W. Holdridge. He was an avid archer, hunter, and fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors. He retired as a Truck Driver, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Port Orange.
Virgil is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Arlene Holdridge; son Jeff Holdridge; parents, Henry W. and Myrtice Knight Holdridge.
Survivors include; children, Dale (Kitten) Holdridge, of, Athens, GA, Julie (Casey) Plagge, of, Mobile, AL; siblings, Wilber Holdridge, Geraldine "Cissy" Fischer; daughter in law Laura Holdridge; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many extended family members and friends.
Virgil's last request is that anyone attending his service come comfortably dressed in your favorite country western attire. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona Beach. Condolences for the family may be shared in this online guestbook.
