Funeral Services for Virgil "Bud" Hamilton 80 of Port Orange who passed away on Saturday September 8 2007 will be held at 12 noon Wednesday September 12 2007 at Port Orange Church of the Nazarene 840 Taylor Road where he was a longtime member. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Bud was born on August 21 1927 to the late Emitt and Maudie Hamilton in Teaberry Kentucky honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 194. Bud was an avid NASCAR fan from the very beginning of the sport went on to be a race car driver himself and also served as past president of Penn-Mar Racing Association. Of all his interests in life Bud's greatest passion was for his family who will miss him dearly. Bud leaves to cherish his memory of their lives together his loving wife of 62 years Ada; daughters Deborah Potter and her husband Ralph and Ginger Hamilton; sons Dean Hamilton and Jeff Hamilton and his wife Pam; sisters Verbal Meek of Betsy Layne KY and Bernice Prater of David KY; grandchildren Shirley Thomas Jennifer Green Cliff Goodman and Megan Hamilton and 8 great grandchildren.
