Obituary

Funeral Services for Vincent F. Tedeschi 85 of Ormond Beach who passed away on Wednesday January 28 2009 at the HospiceCare Center in Ormond Beach will be Saturday January 31st at 11am at the Basilica of St. Paul in Daytona Beach FL with Fr. Tim Daly officiating. His family will receive friends tonight Friday Jan. 30th from 5-8pm with a prayer service at 6pm. Vincent was born on September 2 1923 in Jersey City New Jersey. Vincent proudly served his country in the US Army as a Sergeant in the 34th Signal Light Construction Battalion during World War II. His battles and campaigns included the Battle of the Bulge-Ardennes Belgium Central Europe Normandy Central France The Pacific Theater and Rhineland. He was the recipient of various decorations and citations including the Philippines Liberation Ribbon World War 2 Victors Medal the Asia Pacific Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Vincent was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church as well as a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks American Legion and Knights of Columbus. Vincent retired from Faberge in Raeford North Carolina as manager of their East Coast distribution center in 1986. After his retirement from Faberge he began a second career as shipping manager for Eurosport Daytona Inc. in Ormond Beach until his final days. Vincent is survived by his wife of 62 years Rachel Tedeschi of Ormond Beach his children Arlene Ferrino and husband Robert of Savannah Georgia Donna Schimenti and husband Tony Schimenti of Ormond Beach Vincent G. Tedeschi and wife Janie of Apopka FL and Vanessa Palo and husband Carl III; his grandchildren Todd Collins Jason Collins Anthony Schimenti Matthew Schimenti Rachel Schimenti Vincent Michael Tedeschi Allycia Tedeschi Stephanie Palo Camille Palo Carl Palo IV Laura Palo; great grandchildren Sarah Collins Ryan Collins Dakota Collins Jason Collins Katey Collins and his brother Gabriel Tedeschi of Wilbraham MA. Vincent enjoyed singing music dancing and cooking. He spent much of his time with his family and will be dearly missed by all. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Vincent's memory to HospiceCare of FL Hospitals Oceanside 264 S. Atlantic Ave. Ormond Beach FL 32176.
