Funeral Services for Stella Victoria Gorski age 89 of Daytona Beach FL who passed away Monday February 27 2006 will be Friday March 3rd at 9:30am in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona Beach with Minister Lela Garretson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park North. Her family will receive friends on Thursday March 2nd from 5-7pm also at the funeral home. Stella was born on March 23 1916 in Rome NY. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1934 and from Kings County Hospital School of Nursing in 1939 as an RN. She worked at Rome Air Depot as an industrial nurse from 1943-1953. In 1949 she married Henry Gorski. Together they had three daughters whom they raised in Rome NY until their relocation to Kansas City in 1970. In 1980 they retired to Daytona Beach. Stella was a member of the Unity Church and the Women of Unity. She held strong convictions for peace and justice in the world and supported many causes to this end. Stella enjoyed traveling reading and was an avid bridge player. She is survived by her husband Henry of 57 years three daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Mark Flotow of Springfield IL Joan and Allan Benjamin of Columbia MO and Carol and Steve Buckels of Rocheport MO; brother and sister-in-law J. Theodore and Effie Banasiewicz of Rome NY and brother-in-law Walter Pabis. She was preceded in death by her sisters Bronia Pliniski and Valeria Pabis both of Rome NY.
