A Mass of Christian Burial for Victor Paul Boyd 80 of Ormond Beach will be held Monday at 10 AM at St Brendan Catholic Church with Father John J. Ryan Pastor as Celebrant. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery Falls Church VA. Family will receive friends at Lohman Funeral Home 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach Sunday from 3-5 PM. Mr. Boyd died Wednesday afternoon January 17 2007 at his home. Born October 17 1926 in Cincinnati Ohio. Upon graduation from high school in 1944 Victor served for a time in The U.S. Army Air Corp. In 1951 he was graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He also held a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Syracuse University. He was a member of General Electric's engineering staff for thirteen years. Where he served on he Atlas Missile Program and as a systems Integration Manager on GE's Apollo Program. In 1970 he joined the engineering staff of the U.S. Postal Service Washington DC where he served in various engineering capacities including Deputy Director of Intelpost the first international electronic mail system. At his retirement he was a member of the Postal Executive Corps and the Project Director of the Air Cargo Data Communications System. He was a devoted husband of 59 years to Patricia and a loving father to Stephen(Bobbie) Clearwater Florida; Raymond (Karin) Bloomfield New York; Victoria (Gerald Zon) San Carlos California; and Mark(Ann Marie) Fairfax Station Virginia. He is also survived by four grandsons and two granddaughters. In January of 1980 Vic was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease.
