IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vicky Lynn
Durner
March 17, 1959 – November 15, 2023
Vicky Lynn Ray Durner began her final journey on Wednesday November 15, 2023. She has reached her final destination and is in the arms of the loved ones who have passed before and will greet us upon our arrival.
Vicky was born in Annapolis, MD on March 17, 1959 to Mary L Ball and Charles W Ray. She was the first baby to arrive on both sides of the family and her mother announced her from the beginning "our little princess arrived today". Little did she know that Vicky would grab the moniker and proclaim it her whole life. She had a brother, Charles (Chuck) and a sister Kathryn (Kathy) and grew up in Annapolis. She was very active during her childhood and was involved in all forms of dance, piano, cheerleading and gymnastics. She excelled in school graduating from Martin Spaulding High School in 1977.
Vicky met and married Frederick (Fred) Durner on September 9, 1977 at Weems Creek Baptist Church in Annapolis, the church she attended as a child. Together they built a family of three amazing sons, Jesse Lee, Michael Allen and Jeffrey Thomas and lovely daughters by marriage, Kimberly and Alison. They made their home in Deltona, FL and she lived her life in the home they had built for 30 years. From here they loved, laughed, and met the many challenges that were thrown their way. Vicky had many joys in life and her grandchildren were one of them. She was gifted with 10 beautiful grandchildren, Miah, Christian, Josh, Kaleb, Noah, Gracie, Bella, Emma, Lilly and Izzy. She always had wonderful and often funny tales to tell about their antics and many photos of the moments they all shared together. Vicky had a very tender heart and loved very deeply. She went out of her way to make, give and participate in family functions, give for those in need and support those during medical emergencies. She also had the love of travel and took any chance she could to see the US. She and Fred were big cruisers, and she took her mom and sister on many extensive road trips to be together and enjoy the sites. She got great satisfaction in planning trips and had everything lined up with places to go and things to see.
Vicky was very attached to both her sister-in-law Lynn and brother-in-law Bob. She and Lynn met in 9th grade and became best friends for 50+ years, they talked several times daily sharing their lives. Her brother-in-law Bob or Robert as she like to call him had a special relationship and they would stay up late and talk about the old days laughing and cutting up. Vicky had an extensive family full of cousins, aunts, uncles and her doting grandparents. She loved them all and as we grieve together, please know that she is watching over us, loving us, supporting us and will be part of every event of each of our lives.
