Vernon Guy Reed, Jr., 81, of Ormond Beach, Florida passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026.  He was born on August 24, 1944 in Rutland, Vermont and served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  Professionally, Vern liked to work with his hands, and this transferred to his appreciation for motorcycles and vintage cars.  He loved the open road and throughout his life often rode a motorcycle.  He understood what it took to restore the vintage cars and was always impressed with a little extra horsepower.

Vern is survived by his daughter, Carol Lynne Lloyd (husband, Jack Lloyd); daughter, Brenda Sue Powell; brother, Robert Reed (wife, Linda Reed); granddaughter, Samantha Morehouse; grandson, Shelby Gray (partner, Rose Roman); great grandchildren, Kaleb Gaines, Kennedy Shackelford, Aurora Gray, and Jasmine Roman; and other extended family and friends.  He is preceded in death by his sister, Maureen Shubert and father, Vernon Guy Reed, Sr.

Services will be held privately at a later date.  In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to a charity of your choice.  Arrangements entrusted to Lohman Funeral Home, Ormond Beach, Florida.
