Verla A. Cascarino age 82 of Port Orange went to her heavenly rewards on Tuesday April 28 2009. A memorial mass in her honor will be held Wednesday May 6 2009; 4:00 PM at Epiphany Catholic Church 201 Lafayette Port Orange FL with Fr. Michael Giglio officiating. Her ashes will be laid to rest in the peaceful scattering garden of Daytona Memorial Park.

Verla was born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania attended Fitzgerald Mercy College of Nursing and raised her family in Riverside New Jersey. She dedicated many years of service to a private practice physician in New Jersey. In 1981 she and her husband came to settle in Port Orange.

Mrs. Cascarino was a giving effervescent optimistic caring person who dedicated herself as a loving wife mother and grandmother. Her talents included square dancing crafts playing the organ social card games crossword puzzles and volunteering at the church she so loved.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 56 years Lawrence "Larry" Cascarino 3 daughters: Patricia (Charles) Bruder Denise "Dennie" (Bill) Lees and Karen (Keith) Poulsen 5 grandchildren: Michael Jason Mark David and Michelle her best friend "Sis" and many loving friends.

Her dear aunt who was like a sister Agnes Dunbar preceded her in death.
