IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Valerie Ann
Berger
January 8, 1958 – January 25, 2024
In loving memory of Valerie Bottesini Berger, born January 8, 1958, who departed on January 25, 2024, at the age of 66, after 48 and a half years of shared joy and love alongside her devoted husband, Harvey Berger. Valerie was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, and spent her childhood in West Springfield until 2001 when she made her home in Orange City, Florida. A dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant for 41 years, Valerie approached life with unwavering positivity, even in the face of her recent battle with cancer. Her resilience and strength remained a testament to her character until her last moments.
Valerie was not just a healer in her profession but also in her daily interactions, spreading warmth and inspiration to all she encountered. An active soul, she embraced life through pickleball, line dancing, and selflessly feeding the homeless. Her spiritual home was found at Journey Church - Orange City, a place where love and appreciation embraced everyone, bringing her immense happiness.
Known for her heartfelt letters and emails brimming with life updates, wisdom, and quotes, Valerie leaves behind a legacy of positivity, consistently nurturing connections. Together with her partner, Harvey, she loved traveling both the USA and Europe, creating cherished memories. Their journey included raising two beautiful children, Maritza Berger of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Mario Berger "Super Mario" of Lawton, Oklahoma, alongside the companionship of many dogs.
Valerie is survived by her three brothers - Joel Bottesini of Natick, Massachusetts, Karl Bottesini of Vermillion, South Dakota, and Brian Bottesini of Beaverton, Oregon. She is also survived by her childhood best friend, Maggie Balestri, from West Springfield, Massachusetts, and her Florida best friend, Ann Birencwaig. Valerie's absence leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her legacy of love and positivity will continue to resonate in the lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
